PRIVACY STATEMENT

Submitted manuscripts are reviewed with due respect to confidentiality of the authors, and authors entrust the editors with the results of their research and creative efforts which can determine their reputation and career. The reviewers also have the right to confidentiality which is supported by the editors. Confidentiality of authors may only be breached if the editors reveals unreliability or falsification of the information in the manuscript.

The editors do not disclose any information regarding manuscripts (including their receipt, contents, review status, criticism of the reviewers or final status) to persons other than the author and reviewers.

The editors regularly inform reviewers that the manuscripts they receive are the intellectual property of authors and are not to be disclosed. Reviewers are not allowed to make copies of the manuscript for personal use or give the manuscripts to third parties, except for cases when the editor’s permission to do so is available.

The manuscript review is confidential. Only the Executive Secretary and the Editor-in-Chief know the name of the reviewer. This information shall not be disclosed. In some particular cases, the comments of reviewers are anonymously sent to other persons who evaluate the same manuscript, which helps reviewers to analyze the submitted material in more detail. Reviewers may be informed of the final decision of the editorial board and the editor to accept or reject a manuscript.

All of the author’s personal data submitted to the editors of the Journal of Visual Theology is used solely for academic purposes outlined in the license agreement.

The editors of the Journal of Visual Theology strongly recommend that authors acquaint with the Privacy Statement before submitting the manuscripts.
